A Conversation with Ian Gawler - The Gawler Foundation

Dr Ian Gawler, OAM, BVSc, MCounsHS, is the Founder & Therapeutic Director of the Gawler Foundation, set-up in 1982. Ian is a long-term cancer survivor, and a pioneer in the therapeutic application of mind/body medicine and meditation. He established Australia’s first lifestyle based, cancer self-help group over 25 years ago.

In this program Ian shares his own personal journey to wellness, providing hope and inspiration, as well as practical advice to those with a life threatening illness.

Ian is also the author of four bestsellers, has edited another seven books on mind/body medicine, and produced a series of CDs to support his writings.

His ideas and concepts have received scientific recognition and validation both in Australia and internationally, with many doctors addressing lifestyle factors when treating cancer.

Today, the Gawler Foundation is a dynamic, thriving and leading life-force in health and healing. Over 15,000 people have attended its residential programs in Victoria’s Yarra Valley and more than 75,000 people have benefited from its support services. The Foundation receives no Government funding but continues to raise funds to help subsidise the cost of support services for cancer and MS patients.
